Lisa Lam has done it again.............

Lisa Lam's Fashionista  Baby Bag

Front Snaps using magnetic snaps in very contrasty patternInside Lining showing inner pockets and Label

Lisa Lam has a new book coming out A Bag for All Reasons.  I can't wait for the book.  I was able to order a PDF 3 Beautiful Bags an exclusive extract from the forth coming book.  So happy I did, I started with this Fashionista Baby Bag.

What a great Diaper Bag!  Plenty of pockets, lots of room for everything a baby parent could want.  There is a zippered inside pocket to put your wallet and phone.  The bag closes with a zipper. I added snaps to close the front pockets as, I'm not a big fan of Velcro.  I also added a key holder, or it could be used to hold the babies soother.  I have already cut out some jean weight fabric to make another one.

Once I have it finished I will go on to try the next pattern which is the 3-in-1 Conversion Backpack.I think I will try it in leather.

Lisa's patterns are straight forward; she is very good about the writing of her patterns. You understand them.  You are sure that if you follow her instructions and use her patterns that the purse will turn out just like it is suppose too. Lisa's tutorials are also very good.

On her website  www.u-handbag.com you will find bag making supplies, and lots of information and help.

Oh that turned out fabulous!!! I just took out her pattern for the backpack to try as well. We'll have to compare notes :) I have not sewn with leather, but I do have this large piece of faux-leather (with soft backing) that maybe I could use. Great job! Cindy

Thanks Cindy, it was great sewing it. So enjoyable to have a pattern turn out the way it is suppose too. I enjoy sewing with leather as I have the industrial walking foot machine so it works very well. Faux-leather should be great for it, as it says to use a quilt weight cotton or cotton linen blend. I have to finish this other diaper bag I cut out otherwise it will get lost in a pile.Soon as I'm done it I want to do the backpack. Let me know how it goes. Natalie

Oh I love your bag! I *can't wait* until I get this book -- I've been eagerly anticipating its arrival. :-) Where did you get that awesome magnetic snap?

Hi Susan, Thank You. I can't wait for Lisa's book either. I lucked out when I was able to get the sneak peak. I hope to start on the 3-in-1 conversion this week. My cousin picked up the snaps for me in Hong Kong as she lives there right now. She also got me ones that light up when you open your purse.

Argh! How cool is that?! Soooo wish I could get them here. BTW, my book arrived yesterday and I can't decide which one to do first!
